Thundermoon Bio
Thundermoon are an electronic band from Edinburgh with a queer synth sound to shift dimensions. Influences include Faithless, LCD Soundsystem, CHVRCHES, Daft Punk, Underworld, 80s synth, and 90s dance.
Their debut EP “We’re Still Here” (Sep 2023) received support from the likes of The Skinny, Plastic Magazine, BBC Rapal and Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net. Their 2nd EP, “We Can Do Better Than This” (Nov 2024, New Teeth Records) was featured on BBC Introducing in Scotland, The Roddy Hart Show, Vic Galloway, BBC Rapal, The Skinny, Snack Mag, Wide Days, and Resonate. Thundermoon also featured as ‘Artist of the Week’ in The Scotsman and were shortlisted for the Scottish Live Music Awards for Best Electronic Artist. In 2024, they played their debut festival slots at Knockengorroch and The Skinny’s takeover of The Pyramid Stage at Kelburn Garden Party, along with a debut Glasgow show at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.
Thundermoon kicked off 2025 with a performance at Edinburgh Hogmanay’s First Footin’, and have been busy writing their debut album. Their collab single “You. Me. (feat. Megan Black)” (May 2025) comes with it’s own dance routine and was awarded ‘Track of the Week’ via BBC Introducing in Scotland with Phoebe Inglis-Holmes & Stephanie Cheape, who said it was one of their “favourite combinations out of all of the collaborations they have ever had on BBC Introducing in Scotland.” Inglis-Holmes labelled the track the “perfect, queer, art-pop anthem”. Following the release of “You. Me.”, Thundermoon supported Jet2Holiday pop-sensation Jess Glynne at Helix Park in June. The band had a bucket list moment in August when they opened the show for their idols and ’90s dance legends, Faithless, at Floors Castle in Kelso – citing it as “the best night of their lives”. Stay tuned for what’s next on the cards for Thundermoon, with new music coming out in 2026 and a debut album in the works.
